Short Instruction Manual
MobiSuDo is currently only a SuDoKu assistant - it allows you to enter your own puzzle and solve it on the go.
Each start of the game automatically restores the previously saved puzzle. The very first start loads a predefined puzzle.
Navigating the grid
As long as a single cell is selected, you can enter numbers into it. There are two ways how to select cells of the puzzle:
- With the joystick (arrows keys select, fire/ok confirms)
- Using the numbers (first number selects the 'sector', second selects the cell inside the sector (pressing a 3 and a 1 would select the top left cell in the top right sector).
Joystick Navigation
The game board can be navigated using the joystick either at the sector level (3x3 cells with the same background) or at single cell level. You can switch between the two levels using the fire/ok button (pressing the joystick on my k750i).
Navigation using the numbers
The any cell can be selected by specifying its location. First keypress selects the sector (1 is the top left, 9 is the bottom right). Second keypress selects the cell inside the selected sector.
Modifiers and other special keys
A cell is cleared by typing a zero when a single cell is selected.
Pencil marks (the small numbers) can be entered when the asterisk '*' modifier is active. If you have sticky modifiers enabled, the modifier is toggled by pressing the asterisk key, otherwise you have to hold it pressed.
You can also highlight the current row and column by holding the hash '#' key (sticky modifiers apply to the hash key too).
Softkeys and Menus
There are two functions available using the softkeys (two keys just below the display) - Menu and Exit.
'Exit' saves the game and ends the program.
The 'Menu' softkey brings up and hides the game menus. There's three menus - Main menu, Options menu and Edit menu.
- Main menu is available when playing a game and can be used to reset the game, to enter the Options menu or to enter a new game.
- The Options menu allows you to configure the program - turn backligting permanently on, switch various modes including the 'sticky modifiers'.
- Edit menu is available when entering a new game and allows you to save and play it (ends editing), clear the board and enter another puzzle or cancel editing and return to the previous puzzle.
